Others of my vintage may remember a good Qld finch breeder, long passed, who donated a pair of Blue-breasts as a raffle prize for the fledgling QFS

A magnanimous gesture; but not really in the best interests of a what was a very rare species, even in those 'high and far off' times


And on a completely different note . .

The same group will doubtless remember the accidental loss of what was probably Australia's largest colony of Pintailed (Parrotfinches) Nonpareils in Brisbane's huge flood some forty years ago
