when i shot off this post/mouth i was probably feeling all the pressure of those gouldians arriving shortly. almost 24 hours later and 173 views - i have seeeen the light. glory be!!!!
it was wrong of me to draw other forum members into this thread and i am truly sorry for the drama. true i could have easily threw out the $1500 and cover it myself - and thought about it. and thought about it ...and
but i have a big shipment of gouldians to pay for. doing it tough i sold one of my rolex day date watches - also know as the 18k president but i still have 4 left now the funny part......i don't wear a watch!
for those not into quality watches bit of info. rolex president $33k new or a car.last jan bought mine for $11k and sold it 6 weeks back for $18k....plus change
so my gouldians only cost me $8k. then i had to rebuild the cage buy smacko's for the dog etc etc etc.
if nobody comes to the party in 24 hours i will have no choice in withdrawing the office. forgot to mention .....i also deal in diamonds. good ones at that. price may scare you

Willbill there is no need to panic on the AFF folding due to lack of finances. If we continue to get donations yearly ( Feburaury) and Merch sold we will be fine for now. The merch what we have is now making a few dollars a product to go to costs After paying for itself. The few dollars we get would not cover my time or fuel ,cost etc organising it... But thats my way of continuing to help financially and thats my choice. The donations cover the rest or bulk of the basic costs. There are other improvements and updates that we have no money for or pay for as we can.Things that computer wizards do behind the scenes you probably don't notice. We hope to get better things for the site as time goes on, but as we can afford them. If every member considers our merch over other sellers products to support costs. Also continue to donate what they can afford, some people may only afford $5 every bit helps. The ones that cant afford anything at all can help out in other areas such as the newsletter writing articles or sale reports etc just being helpful that is all we ask of those. If you can afford $10,$20, $50 or as you suggested earlier $200 for those with multiple rolex watches thats upto you. But dont leave yourself short we are all going through tuff times.
Personally as far as selling merch I thank those who say keep the change as a donation at sales or postal orders throw in another $2, if they are happy with the pricing or want to help more.
And for all others making Donations as you have already been told a BIG THANKYOU.
I hope this puts you at ease Wild bill.

Gomer...isn't there a way to have adds running down the side or wherever?...I have seen these on most other sites, and although you see them most times they are not intrusive....that may help pay as well?

Yes there is a way and we have looked into it in the past. There are many things we have looked at and discussed. With the adds issues would be would members be happy having them come up on every page ? The site can only put them up a certain way a little complicated but could work. Then getting jpegs etc from the add provider. We had some lined up to trial but they never supplied the jpegs etc.. and then getting money from them.
We have some ideas but need time as this is all volunteer work and are discussing this now.But with some of us travelling some shift workers things dont happen overnight buy the time we communicate with each other.
