Thanks for the expanded explanation PG. The genetic traits are surprising as you said. I have bred normal gouldians for more than 35 years and have only ever added to my stock from other breeders on normals only. A few years ago, three white chested blacks were bred (1 cock and 2 hens) and the folllowing year 2 more hens. I sold them and what I believed were the parents. None have appeared since but I now wonder if they will again in the future.
