Rain has finally settled down! Still getting rain everyday but certainly not to what we did get!! It's worth mentioning that the airport rain gauge is 5 km from town itself. The rain gauge on top of Kelly's knob received ver 500ml!! Stupid amount of rain! Damage bill is currently at 5 million!
A lot of roads are still closed with significant washouts and damage.
All the. Birds are ok. I put hydrated lime down in all aviaries and also did a 2 day run of Baycox...just in case. Will be keeping a close eye on things. Very humid and damp here still!

A big pipe from "up North" down to SA has been proposed several times since the late 1800's according to a tv doco I watched, but as you said each time it was costed it gets shelved. If the cost of costing it each time were added up and actually spent on creating the pipeline we would have the pipe in place already!

Have noticed that polys like to cost things every 3 or 4 years to frighten themselves out of doing progressive things, and spend a lot of money on consultants that could be spent on progress and services.
Our weather mob rain guage is also at the airport 4kms inland from town. Seems to be another trend. Coxi prevention treatment sounds like a good idea. And possibly an avairy on stilts that you can move the birds too in the event of future flooding. As some of the experts believe that this weather pattern is something we will have to live with into the forseeable future.
