Thats a bit harsh. Obviously he or she is a new member and has a handle of the gould mutations. Because they are new members doesn't mean they are new to the hobby of aviculture, be it finches or whatever. I still find the mutation thing with goulds a bit of a worry because I cant get my head round DF, SF, AY, EY and all of the other stuff let alone blues, silvers, pastels etc etc etc.

Advice was given, some I am sure tongue in cheek and some with personal views. This is a great forum. Without this forum I would have made many mistakes after being out of the finch thing for over 30 years but now find myself comfortable with feeding regimes, medications advised here as compared to all those years ago. Now I breed Stars, Painteds and Goulds just for the fun of it. All I ever bred all those years ago were Zebs and then flummed a pair of Javas who bred faster than Zebs..

Like to know who you were talking about then as I cant see the dreaded smiley you say was in the post....and pretty sure Sam breeds some mutations as well...and if you say it wasnt pointed at me maybe you should of said that on your second post...your the one that originally arched up...chill bro lol or as you say.. suck it up

Once again I have to remind the Forum members to ****** STOP ******taking things personal and over reacting.
If you "do not like mutations" that is fine and it's your right to have an opinion.
In reverse "if you like mutations" that is fine as well as it is your right as well.
The members old and new have the right to ask their questions that is why we have a forum.
Often I do not agree with others opinions but let them go unless it is detrimental to the birds we keep.
If you find something that annoys you please don't take fire direct through the Forum, soften your comments
down or contact Amin. and let us see if we can do something.
We are getting pretty good handling people simply by making personal contact by the use of pm's

IMO Craig summed up the possible genetic make up for you well in the early part of this thread.....I have observed people trying to sell blues as splits when they come from 2 split parents....until the normal possible split blue bird is test breed, this bird should not be sold as a split....just a possible split, and not attract the premium price the split bird does.

IMO Gould1amhooked was seeking clarification on the birds bought being split for blue.....can't see how Sam's comments assisted in helping Gould1amhooked with the issue raised.

It's obvious mutations (especially in gouldians) is a galvernising topic....you either love them or you hate them.....and from what I have seen the haters tend to be those who have failed with them in the past.....it also seems that whenever the mutation breeders reply to the negitive comments about gouldians they are deemed to have over reacted or taken the comment in the wrong way....lets remember it's hard to read a persons pure intent just from the words on a forum.
