KB,that's terrible it reminds me of the early days with blues, once they started rubbing their eyes on the perch they didn't last long but in saying that,i know they came from a good breeder so maybe it is an eye infection.
I don't know if you can buy it any more but i did have good results with Golden Eye Ointment with other types of birds, good luck. Craig

For eye trauma I have previously been recommended to use Chlorsig 1% with chloramphenciol 10mg/g in a sterile oculentum base (paffin, wool fat).
Good luck

I've got my local vet to try and get me in some Doxyvet. Being remote here not a lot of avian prescriptions are kept on hand. In the meantime she's isolated and on Triple C. I'm keeping a close eye on her. Will see what happens. These birds did come from a reputable breeder and so far the others are fine:)
Learning curve here with this infection as I've never come across in before in my birds.
Thanks for everyone's input:)

Update:- the little blue hen is still with me. There ere a couple of nail biting days where she stopped feeding and I was giving here emergency formula via crop needle (scares the crap out of me every time!)
I'm slightly hopeful right now that she's on the mend. Positive signs are her eyes are much better, she's has been chirping a couple times, preening and feeding.
I'm most likely going to rest her this year and if she recovers breed from her next year:)

After a couple weeks- my little blue hen seems to be on the mend!!! She is eating, pooping normally and now chirping! Her eyes are cleared up and she's putting weight back on!
I've had her on some probiotics and she is getting sprouted seed with multivitamins and grit. I've also added some powdered kelp and spirulina into her diet to get her feathers back into condition.
I'm rather pleased with myself for getting her through the infection!!!
Ill be keeping a close eye on her in the coming weeks and still not sure ill use her for breeding this year.
Thanks for everyone's input and advice:)

KB,
Did you end up treating with any medications or just used supplements?
Cheers Ian
