Haha you're probably right on both counts- I thought it was nice to see one in the 'wild'! Fiji does have quite relaxed laws about bringing in animals, so they may well have been deliberately introduced. I don't think there's much in the way of aviculturists there (apart from people keeping native parrots- probably illegally)- my sister has been trying to obtain captive-bred Peale's parrot finches (called Kula lailai there- translates to 'little green'), but has had no success.
