This Pied Hen was definetly a very nice looking young bird - will be great to see some pied offspring produced - as Craig52 said she looked a bit blue/Lizard canary ???

I have been looking for a pied cock bird to pair up with her during the winter months. The hen was placed in her own small specialist aviary in participation for the cock bird introduction. As the warmer months approached her diet was changed from a basic seed diet to greens,egg n biscuit and livefood (maggots, pupae and mealworms). This hen has maintained her beautiful pied markings and looks stunning in the sunlight. The major problem I have experienced is actually finding sparrows here in Port Macquarie as they are quite rare.
Unfortunately, I am still on the look out for a suitable bird, pied or known split pied.

G'day Al,i rang that guy we spoke about but unfortunately he is not a very well person so i didn't even ask about them.I could catch one here but it's too hard to get it to you so surely someone North of Sydney could get you one,it doesn't have to be pied a normal would do the job as the mutation most likely is dominant. She is a beautiful bird. Could well be a good idea to put her to a normal this season to see if it is dominant or recessive pied. Unless of course you already know.

Al, I've been keeping an eye out for pied ones but haven't seen any.
There were some mutants behind Woolies in Wagga, perhaps someone could go down and have a look there for you?
In the meantime, if you want a normal cock sparrow let me know and I could get one to you.
