10kg red pannicum
5kg canary
5kg white millet
5kg yellow pannicum

I only have 13 birds at the moment so 25kg lasts for ages.

I get it from Kirkwoods at Rutherford.

Wish I could get $1,125 a tonne for wheat. I would be very happy to bag into 20 kg bags for that price.

We get our wheat for $15 - 40kg bags
A 20kg bag of finch mix varies from store to store, but roughly $40-$45 a bag

Nice of them to give you a discount on buying 25kg of seed at single kilogram prices. :shifty:

But seriously, that mix you described sounds like what I use. There can't be that much benefit in mixing your own to pay double the price.

While up in country WA I paid $58-50 for 20kgs of Budgie Breeder mix for my finches this week. Not enough white millet or canary in the finch mixs for the birds I keep, as I am heavy on the middling size birds like Gouldians. And Mother got the last bag of white millet the stockists had for her budgies. So not just high in price but some seeds hard to get.

Is that the produce store next to Aldi?

That's the one. The Quirindi budgie is supplied by Peter Slade who also does a grass seed mix (similar to greens and grains but a third if the price) and has Aussie grown Niger.

Agree with you Finchbreeder, not only have prices gone up but I.ve been unable to get some seeds like red pannicum for months.
