Feed back is good from you all.

But due to the rules of genetics I can't help but think Craig got it right when he called fake...

Rich.

Has anyone questioned the richness of yellow in th other birds belly and i have never seen a beak that black ?, could it be a camera setting to overly enhance the colours ?
just a thought

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that it IS genetically possible to have a blue BH YTB but it is phenotypically impossible, i.e. it can't physically appear as a YTB due to the blue washing out yellow and red to "beige".

Cheers Ian

As a total moron where genetics are involved could it be something that it has been eating.

I tend to agree with E Orix that they are being fed something yellow, maybe so it looks like egg yolk.

Tom,imo the black headed yellow tip bill birds are visual splits to yellow head and i believe the black headed bird was and still is the original wild bird,in the wild black headed birds out number red headed birds 10 to 2 where as yellow head birds are 1 in a hundred.

Norse, the black bill on the hen shows she is in full breeding condition.

Stu,hen showing yellow on bill as well-- Dead give away,YTB means tipped bill not at the back of the mandible.

All in my opinion guys,i'm no expert. Craig

If you save the photo of the Blue and zoom in you can see the yellow is also on the birds left foot, a spot behind its head and not actually on the tip of the beak.
Definitely not genuine.

Craig52 I have to disagree with you regarding this statement. "Tom,imo the black headed yellow tip bill birds are visual splits to yellow head"

The YTB Black heads are Yellow headed birds( carrying 2 YH genes ) which are unable to express the YH due to the presence of the BH.

A BH bird split to YH only carries one YH gene and does not display this in any way.

I have been in contact with the owner (Germany) and he states that the yellow on the belly is a sign to being a split, a split to what I'm unclear.

It will be interesting to see more photos as promised which I'm eagerly awaiting to share.

Is it a fake, is it food or is it something new............ :?

If you control + you will get a close up pic of all the bird and if you look at the feet it has claws missing and bad curl claw foot,i hope it is still alive as looks a very old bird going by its feet. Cheers Craig.

Good pickup! Yes agree, definitely bad feet indicating an old bird.
