If you also keep chewing birds, avoid treated pine for the above reasons.
And yes, I believe there is still arsenic in most treated pine around.

A very good and scientific study which basically says CCA treated pine is OK.

Also remember if you cut the pine, spray the cut ends with Ecoseal timber preservative. You can get this from bunnings.
That might be ok but they also say you have to wear a respirator, glasses, and gloves when working with CCA.

Your suppose to wear these products when cutting all timbers,and timber products such as chipboard and mdf,its apart of work ,health and safety,people worry about treated pine products and then go and buy nest boxes made of MDF,one of the most dangerous materials,garyh

Yes Gary,but it's not the people that buy the product it's the person cutting/sanding the product who are at risk,i'm a prime example of of that person with having the big C removed from my sinuses which was caused buy wood dust and 20+ years in a joinery shop with no dust extraction :hothead:

Your right Craig ,but you only have to rub the cut ends with your fingers and the fibers are released into the air,try it when holding the box against the sun light,although im against doing it,as i said very dangerous material,hope all's well Craig,garyh
