Here,s one for you.Red Siskins first nest 3 chicks 4 days old all good next morning GONE no bodies no sign,NO INTRUDERS,totally sealed avairy I have never had mouse rat etc.Only thing I can think of is nest was hip height so easily inspected and they didnt like me looking.Spare hen in aviary,maybe jealous.But no bodies must have been eaten totally? Built new nest during those 4 days don't suppose they transfer chicks.Too scrared to look now ha ha

Particularly cold night? If so possibly all chicks died. Parents then tossed the bodies and something (ants?) had a good feed.
