Red Zeb hens have light ear patches like that. Could there be some of that in the mix? Or - as happened with the Reds - it could be a spontanious mutation.

With my little experience with breeding Eumos (one year), you have two hens. The darker one is regular gray Black face Black breast Eumo. (she is missing one trait to be complete Eumo -> Black cheek) I produced 3 such hens this year.
The lighter one is light back Eumo hen. I got one such hen to improve my genetics.

In Australia we have Charcols, which I believe are not in America.
And in America you have Eumos, which I believe are not in Australia.
I think it may be as Finchy deducted, a silver Charcol, with possible a Red gene.
