Do mice catch and eat finches?

Well mice aren't my problem...just got back from work..noticed firstly my Canaries and babies were missing then I found the culprit....As most know I am extending an old holding aviary to a communal breeding aviary...it has 2 layers of 12mm sq mesh...so for those that find it hard to think mice will get through that size wire...how about a 1.2 mtr carpet snake?? GRRR lost a third of my breeding stock!! I HATE SNAKES AND MICE!!! once this aviary is finished nothing is getting in anymore!!! I bought this aviary as is.... just for somewhere to put my birds for time been....lesson learnt again...should of stripped it and put vermin mesh on it before releasing any birds... :evil: :evil: :evil:

Not good Dave, i don't have that problem down here as it's usually too cold for them. Sorry to hear that when you are so close to releasing them into your new extension but knowing you, you will build your numbers back up in no time. :thumbdown: :thumbup: Craig
