Can you put up a pic of this grass benrayjay, you might be spreading a notable noxious weed which won't go down well with authorities. Craig.benrayjay wrote:thanks for all the replies, I have been using it for 2 years now as my only nesting material and the birds love it! painteds, plums, orange breasts, stars, cordons, hecks all make their nests out of it and when I get to the end of the bag I spread the leftover seed on the floor and the birds pick through it with great haste.
As I have no access within an hours drive it is economical and easy to gather. as to regards the pricing of $30 a bag I assume you are all ok with that????

I'm not really sure what love grass is. Maybe a photo would be useful.
For swamp grass I would say $20 for a 20kg seed bag full would be more likely. Larger bran size bags you could sell for $30. In saying this, I know others do sell for more but then they sell less.

I know some high country graziers who curse lovegrass as a noxious and hard to eradicate pest in their pastures. Maybe some caution would be required when discarding the seed from the bottom of the bag when emptied.

sorry for the lack of reply, but I found out the grass at Guyra was actually November grass. Of which I sold 18 bags for $30 a bag at the Inverell bird sale, I barely had any left before the sale started!
BUT I will be getting some more love grass and will post you all a photo of the thicker cousin of November/ Swamp grass in due course.
