I can't seem to find any grass where I am, I used to live near Gatton and the seed grass was just crazy but here it seems to only grow along the roadside which I'm worried about chemicals from council spraying :/
For catching (and/or breeding separation) which I haven't had to do yet, I'm nervous for when I do! The cage can be divided in half with a piece of MDF that sits at the halfway mark

I was thinking if/when I need to separate babies I'll do that until I decide which ones I'm keeping/selling/placing in another cage etc.

I worry about that as well so I steer clear of council grasses!
I am a member of QFS, they sell frozen green seed once a year. I picked my seed up in April. The gouldians love it! I mightn't have enough to make it through the rest of the year!

Yellow face gouldians are my favourite. Good looking birds. I think that your male is a single factor yellow back (no pastel). This means if your birds breed then half of the males will look like dad and half of the female young will have a completely yellow back

A breeding tip is to use a wooden box (not thatch/basket). Gouldians will mate in the box itself as (after the dance) they like privacy. I've always put a bit of nesting material in the box first to get them started and push it down with a closed fist to make a curved impression. They will then take over building the rest. Good luck
