I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the news yesterday morning. I still don't think it's fully registered.

Russell was, through his books, my first introduction to finch keeping. He's been a massive influence on my development as a keeper ever since. I am truly thankful to have known him and I will always appreciate the time he gave so generously to encourage me in my endeavours, and the experiences he shared so freely.

My thoughts are with Indra, I hope she is coping.
