I'd honestly say that with the advanced technology over the last few years the sexing of monomorphic birds via DNA samples is now definitely the way forward, it's now made a massive impact of bird breeding as a whole because it dosen't have to be loads of birds being wrongly paired up and time waisted throughout a whole breeding season,Pete Sara wrote: 21 Oct 2017, 22:40 I was in the same boat a few years ago , abundance of hens and no cock birds . I've personally not actually had to use DNA sexing yet but will now definitely consider using DNA with some of the very difficult to sex small softbills
