I'd be extremely surprised to hear of anyone who breeds them in Australia

There is a breeder with a small colony of pintail nonpareils and bamboo's but there is no way i will say who it is as Finch breeder said no one will tell you what they have in rare or uncommon finches until they establish them and even then it would be a closed circle of breeders for quite some time. You have got to really hand it to the people that keep the endangered species going in their aviaries, its a lot of hard work and a lot of security

I did read in a 2014 issue of Just Finches and Softbills that NZ Breeders Kevin and Iris Fosters still breed Dybowskis Twinspots and Pintailed Parrotfinches

It's amazing how some of these birds have declined over the years. In a book from 1974 called 'Aviary Birds in Colour', it states that the Pintailed parrotfinch is 'easily obtainable'.Craig52 wrote: 31 Jul 2019, 22:44 There is a breeder with a small colony of pintail nonpareils and bamboo's but there is no way i will say who it is as Finch breeder said no one will tell you what they have in rare or uncommon finches until they establish them and even then it would be a closed circle of breeders for quite some time.
