what to expect colour wise

In saying that with the painted mutation you can breed colour to colour and breed back to normals to outcross for vigar and new blood lines. An interesting part of breeding colour to colour is that it lightens the back colour of their young compared the parents. Red fawns can be become pink but yellow fawns are a little lighter but not much.
The bird in the pic was the result an accidental mating of two red fawns back 20 years ago, it survived for 5 years and bred many young.

Well that is good news. Have seen pictures of some "pretty pink" red fawns that were for sale on this side of the country.

The yellow looks more fawn than the red. Both very pretty birds.
