thinking about giving out on the reds after 6 yrs. fertility has gone to sh765t.
elf When the fertility dropped with mine I got one good outcross hen, and bingo, things picked up.
Mind I am still not getting the full reds. Though the heads are nicely red.

Hoping to produce a Cobalt Blue Gouldian, I have been working on this project for a a number of years. I now believe I have the genetics to see some results.

In the process of culling back the numbers of Gouldians and Parrot Finches as they've had a very successful 2018 and 2019. Hoping this will allow the Diamonds to go about their business with less disturbance. Also hunting for some Longtails, really like their sociable qualities.

My colour vision may be a bit iffy . .

Most of my current and past blues would fit into sky and cerulean category of that chart. There is one blue cock which would nearly fall into the cobalt, its his young blues of which their are 4 at this stage, that I hoping will be cobalt.

The only way to get a dark factor blue is to use dark factor wild type green backs as the initial source to introducing the blue but not with WB as WB can and does reduce head and back colour.
So this is not a mutation but a varying in colour from dark factor birds or it can be done from light coloured birds to produce a lighter blue bird.
I do know of two breeders of dark factor birds but i'm sure they like to keep their birds to wild type with no mutations involved.
Good luck.
