Allowing capture of mutations sounds like a smart move.
Can't imagine our WA mob doing it but.

In the 60's/ early 70's some states had no provision for mutations in their systems

I can remember a Victorian who was pinged for having unlicensed Gang-Gangs trying to explain their origins, as being normal coloured offspring from mutation parents which had since died . . Unfortunately the courts were less than sympathetic

And a mate of mine, way back had a 'white' Black Swan; actually a very heavy pied, taken from the wild, which he swapped with Gorge Wildlife Park in SA for some very expensive exotic parrots. Offspring of that bird may still be at Cudlee Creek

The Qld Wildlife 'mob' were never known for their fellow-feeling either
