Gouldians are my favorite too. I bought 3 pairs October last year and they have bred successfully despite having to live with my inexperience. I now have 29 babies colouring up and my last 5 babies just born in last couple of days!
Good luck with finding your gouldians, let us know what birds you get. We love pics!
No secret, I just took copious notes from the guy I bought the birds from and let the birds do their own thing. Plenty of variety in the food, I buy a commercial finch mix and add other seed to it. Also give millet sprays, grit with iodine added, offer greens regularly and mix commercial egg food with boiled egg when there is young around. They took time in getting settled in but by end of Feb I had my first babies. Im now growing different grasses and sprouting seed. After joining this site I found lots of other tips, help and suggestions and also most importantly a non-judgmental sounding board for any ideas I have.

I've done the same as Diane with 14 young from 3 pair and stopping them after the second cluch (just to give them a brake). Now have one pair on 6 eggs again and another is going to lay again. I've had egg food (dry) and heaps of seeding grasses & sprouting seed. Like Diane I'm growing some seed in my garden aswell.
Picked up alot of good tips in this forum.

Thanks for the very warm welcomes everyone! I'll certainly take the tips you've given me to note, and I'll certainly take some pictures when I get a pair. I'll be starting with one pair of Gouldians, and probably 1-2 pairs of Zebras. I hope everything turns out alright after I build an aviary.
That site link that you posted is quite interesting mickp!
You aviary is fantastic Diane! Love the natural perches.

Welcome Nemo.
As someone who keeps gouldians and zebras together myself.
Just be careful the zebs don't overrun the gouldians
And in case you don't know and as no one else has said.
Just don't put those budgies in with the finches, they might chew on them.
