Like the idea of using pillow feathers as a supply for the birds.......but

I would hope that the pillow factory does some serious feather cleaning before they can sell them for human use!
I get one from vinnies or op shop,For around $2.Then put it through the washing machine with some bleach. Then hang the feathers on the line in a onion bag untill dry.A pillow will last me a few years. As i use emu feathers aswell.

Gomer with those jewish instincts of yours I begin to think we should be related.
Or maybe we were just bought up the same way.
Excellent suggestion, but I forsee difficulties getting cheap pillows once all us finch people start taking your advice.

So when I see two people fighting over a feather pillow in Vinnies I will stop and say Hello, they might be a forum member!

I feel bad knowing my finches are sleeping well on feathers, and some poor fella has to put up with a foam stuffed pillow from vinnies as i took the last feather one.
At least i get some satisfaction knowing a portion of my pay goes to united way weekly. To compansate for my yearly pillow i get from vinnies
