Do you have any sand available to your birds for grit?
I have sand floors in my aviarys so can't really comment on the advantages or not of covering concrete with shell grit.

you could take the next death to a good avian vet to be checked out.I myself have a five hour drive to one so i have not much choice but to nut it out myself.
