Well a interesting poll indeed. Some strong views either way.Perhaps these birds have alot more hope then some think,With breeders either strongly for or against.Good point about reverse genectics,I have often thought about that,If its posible to breed a mute why not a normal using the same proccess.
Thanks to this pole there is a little more education about the proccess of breeding mutes.Perhaps those who are more informed about breeding them.Could help those who dabble in breeding the odd mute.Such as myself. A little guidance on what not to do, as far as genectics go, would only help the mutes that are established in the future.I think mutation and non mutation breeders need more education. So the challenge is on the table. To those more informed mutation breeders.Come forward and educate us all.
Im sure there could be a area on this site for those who wish to be educated in mutation breeding.

if there is enough interest in Gomer's idea, then I'm sure that a sub-forum can be created in the breeding section to cover these birds in more detail.

Yes please.
A subsection for mutation breeding would be great.
And those not interested can just not read that bit.
We can each tell of our experiences. The good and the bad. The happy and the sad.
Because there are pleasant and tragic incidences if you are going to go this path, and it is good to let others know of your experiences, so they can learn from yours, and avoid the pitfalls.
That way mutations can be bread that are as strong and healthy as is possible. :D
