I'd settle for some hens to breed with about now.
But I think my cubans gone down so fingers crossed.
And all suggestions on breeding them welcomed.

out of the 10 gouldians i bred in 09, 6 are male 4 are female.

1st pairing BH/PB/GB cock X BH/PB/GB Hen = 3 males, 2 females

2nd pair RH/PB/GB Cock X BH/PB/GB Hen = 3 males. 2 females

could be worse i guess

No luck at all with them. The male that took to the floor still wants to be there so I moved him to another cage, I didnt want to repeat the problem. (He was calling his mate down and she must have got too cold during the very cold weather we had.....she died). His daughter is fine, but the male I got for her died, so Im back to square one with them.

My painteds laid 1 fertile egg. The chick died in the egg and they haven't gone down since. All that hard work building a nest for nothing.

Good to see I am not the only one when it comes to Painted's. I am up to clutch number 3, with all the previous being clear eggs. Oh well, such is bird keeping ;)

Yep my pair are sitting tight on eggs also. No offence but i hope i dont get the same probs. So far mine seem very devoted.

Best of luck.
