Leaving it in there was my hope too but I only managed one feed yesterday before I took the kids into Manila for ice skating and when I returned at 4:30 the chick wasn't in the box
he was on the ground, cold, dehydrated and barely alive
. I removed him to a hospital cage under a lamp and after I warmed him up gave him two watery feeds before I went to bed. He seems OK this morning but I've never managed to sucessfully hand feed a baby finch. I'm using an ancient packet of parrot hand-rearing mix and adding some boiled egg yolk. If anyone's got sonme suggestions they'd be welcome. Maybe it's time I overcame my principled view on using Society foster parents
