Hello and Welcome
Well today will be day 4 & he's still doing very well. I can sit next to him & he won't flutter away but he will whistle when i whistle to him!
The first day of over 42 degrees he was panting & wings out. He spent a fair bit of time on the upper perch out in the elements
I eventually brought him. The second 42c he seemed to stay on the lower perches near the grass & sprouts, bathed himself a couple of times & he didn't seem to be as hot as the day before. Maybe he figured out quickly how to keep cooler???? He has a high perch under cover but won't use it since I've covered that corner so I cover him at night. His perches are set up, 2 high, 1 low, 1 log on the ground (which he uses when foraging) & he HAS to fly from perch to perch rather than hop, so he doesn't become a little fatty from not exercising properly
I'm thinking maybe about removing one of the higher perches that isn't under cover to encourage him to use the one that is under cover?
I can't believe these little things could become perch potatoes! This one is so energetic LOL
I will have a look at the forum for anyone selling females & place a wanted add. I don't want him to be alone for much longer.
