Heart breaking for sure but don't let that put you off finches. I used to be completely against fostering but I'm coming around to the idea that a few Society finches wouldn't be such a bad idea. Hand rearing parrots and insectivores seems to be an easier option but someday somone may crack the secret of feeding finches. maybe it will be you?!
