yes i love pied thats why i guess ive got a few different pied finches lol. and also looken forward to hearing more on wat ur goen to do about the pied redbrow gomer hope u doo breed from it will be a bit of work to get more visual pied but will be well worth it.

well ive finnaly got the bird of me uncle and very interensting its still in juvinille colours but its showing very promising signs of being pieds with 4flight feathers on each wing so definatly hanging onto this bird ill post some pics when the birds settled in

Ok a year has passed now and I have breed from the pied bird and other ones from the birds I believe passed on the pied gene in the same aviary.I have had about 4 young out of one batch and there is a few more there now.Some of the first 4 young have a few white feathers.And the one in the photo below has twice as many white feathers as last years pied.Although I could not get a photo of it in the holding aviary and the ones I took dont do it justice. The other young I have not seen up close yet.
Could it possible be any of these genetic traits autosomal dominant, recessive, co-dominant, sex-linked or other?
Same amount of pied on both sides.

Did you breed brother to sister to get this? Or what did you use? Flighted pied looks good.

Gomer Hi mate to me that doesn't look pied,it looks more like a deficiantcy? sainthelenas and even cordons.Some hold it for a couple of moults and then it dissapears.I haven't had that problem since feeding more than one live food and
feeding purpose made vitamin and mineral supplements cheers Craig
