I think I'll just go with the conifers. I was hoping to find something else as once the conifers dry out they go really brown. But it won't matter, I don't want to fill my aviary with it. Maybe just a corner.

I agree absolutely Spanna, but for some it's difficult to access so we have to use something else. Where I lived before I just had to walk to the back of the property I lived on and there was a few acres of it growing, but down here in the south I can't find any growing anywhere

Prickly paperbark (also called tea tree) is the go for cut brush.......I have also planted some tubestock in my aviary.....Also bottlebrush (Callistomen sp.) and a spiney Grevillea......they're all good, just have to prune them a bit once they get growing.

You have plenty of areas around Woollongong to get brush, you wont need much, just a bunch for one corner....yes, technically not legal but it'll take all of 45 seconds to cut........live dangerously, you'll get a rush ........I've noticed quite alot on the north side around the big touch footy fields when I've been there......, I cant recall whether its the prickly one but it'll be fine to use. There's others on the forum from around your area, someone will have some local knowledge ;)
