Happened a long long time ago a young adult, fine in with the parents took it out and it just dies in my hands , vet checked that one over and says bad outtie valve heart filled up with blood when it was stressed , would of happened at some stage .
Who knows what happened and yeah not about to spend $$$ finding out , but as you said if it happens again will have to find out cannot be breeding and selling hand reared birds that drop dead on people.
Bloody sad though .
what on earth just happened

Gave the remaining 2 their first feed this afternoon , weighed them and spent time cuddling them and not a problem , they behaved like normal baby Quarrions ,hissed ans spat at me lol .
Now am sure there was an underlying problem with the one that died , a healthy chick wouldnt die just from being picked up and put down basically.
Spoke to a couple of Quarrion breeders online and on the phone and and this sort of thing is rarely heard of with Quarrions anyhoo its all sad but Im releived to know these 2 are a bit tougher .

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.
