Yep, shame to hear about poor ol' Malcom. A true Aussie bushman who showed us places in the far NW where the rest of us townies never get to. He was the real Crocodile hunter long before Steve Irwin graced our screens and had a down to earth way of sharing his love of the Kimberley, the wildlife, the fishing and the aboriginal culture with us. I will always remember him catching trevally with a homemade milo tin lure too

Good on ya Malcom.

I remember watching the documentaries he made.
All the man-eating animals he manhandled and to die in a freak accident like that. Police say they will be investigating it.

Weird, just like Steve Irwin.

Those early wildlife Docos made on a shoestring budget were very informative and entertaining. Jay try Googling. You might be lucky enough to get something you can watch. Very amatuer compared to the modern stuff, but real, boo boos and all.

Yep a good bushman knows where to catch a critter, how to handle it, then stuff it under a rock so he can then lift the rock and catch it again with the camera rolling

.................too right everybody, Mal's love for the bush and telling its stories was real. He was genuinely accepted by the traditional stewards of this land too.........big budgets and stardom dont buy that kind of trust......RIP Mal

Yeah sad. I ran into him a few times in my 15 years in the Kimberley. One of the Aussie icons, Malcolm Douglas, Steve Irwin, the Leyland brothers, Alby Mangles, the Taylors, Major Les Hiddens (the bush tucker man), Jack Absolom, and some more I have missed. Oh Yes, Harry Butler, how could I forget him, lol. I guess you could throw Troy Dann in there as well, but I would rather throw him out, lol, just my personal views on the man.
R.I.P Malcolm Douglas !
