hi mel
nice aviarys you guys have their
with blues i leave the young in with parents until fully coloured i found the survival rate in coloured birds greatly improved , blues in out door aviarys do not like being moved when moving i give spark and vitamins.
also in winter i cover top 1/2 of wire with clear plastic so nice and cose
cheers brad

thanks for info, we will definitely leave them in same aviary as parents. We will breed the blues on with some of our other birds and leave them in the aviary they were bred in. The way their cage is set up it does not get any wind in there but good tip about covering cage come the colder months. I got my stash of grass seeds today for the winter months. Thanks to this website I found out I could freeze them. Such a good site.
PS I took all the photo's with my phone. Good old nokia

wow your bird sounds beautiful. bet you can't wait to breed.
Unfortunately our blues are now all dead. 1 died a couple of weeks back and the other two died this weekend. We still have the green ones that were in the same nest though. I guess it's true what they say about mutations being weaker.
Maybe next years when all our bird problems are gone we'll be a bit more successful with breeding blues.
Hope you do well with yours. Love to see pics once you have babies.
