My boy has less red than Will"s and that one of Graham Bull's is the most red I have ever seen. Could definately get away with
chargeing a premium for that. But not many breeders do. Sounds like everyone who wants red painteds should talk to MickP about shipping them.

Are they normals or extended red birds?

a couple have a lot of red on them the rest are normal.
havent bothered pairing them up to increase the red.
just leave them to do what they do best, breed like zebras

There is a bloke in the newcastle area with an aviary full of red painteds (with lots of extra red). Not sure if i'd call them full red fronts, but certainly lots of red, not sure if he freights but could ask next time I was over his way.

There was a thread a while back in relation to colour and sex of offspring and it seemed to be the general concensus that many people bred for brighter colouring and most people got more cocks than hens. Some people who had bred with less colourful birds were producing more hens. Could be coincidence, but someone in the scientific community had begun research with some types and was finding that bright cock = sons, dull cock = daughters. Interesting, maybe we should all keep 2 bright and 2 dull cocks so we always have both sexs. Will wait and see what this not very colourful boy of mine sires.
