I used to put pea beu on the budgies in the 7Os and 80s. All the old codgers swore by it for mite control. Never lost a bird that we knew of.

We used Rawleighs for canker (scaly mite).

Dad & I used to use Pea Beu for very effective air sac mite control years ago. We didn't have any one time & had a Ruddy with ASM so tried Baygon instead - killed the mite & the bird very quickly.

Mortein pest strips (the type that were hung in wardrobes to keep out moths and silverfish) were always recommended cure for scaly beak mite in budgies years ago, just hang the pest strip in the cage :)

Also to fix Bumblefoot in Canaries used to dip their feet in dettol....worked a treat
