I've got the odd pair of Bengalese as they are handy for emergencies, but have never needed to use them over the years with gouldians.Mine have always parent reared ...no problems.Parent reared are at a premium in the UK and are advertised as such,it being regarded as a bonus. I don't know why, I've never had any real problems with gouldians.
My problem birds have always been the stars which either raise chicks successfully or just desert after the clutch is laid.
As for chick tossing,I've always supplied gouldies with deep nestboxes and had no problems.A mate of mine however hasn't raised a single chick in 3 years??
