If you're in any doubt use the different drugs separately rather than mixed together.
Remember, they were never designed to be mixed together in the first place.
It may not be the cause, but it may help you to identify if an individual chemical is your problem.

The mixture was made for me by a breeder who swears by it and has used it himself for breeding finches, softbills and parrots. I tend to take his advice as gospel as I have seen his setups and birds. Some of his specimens make my eyes goggle and when advised of their worth my mortgage pales into insignificance. It is quite eerie to see a pair of birds worth more than the 2 year old car you arrived in to see them. No withstanding I appreciate your advice and will endeavour to learn more as to the compatability of medicines.

May seem like a "shotgun" approach but we've been mixing Baycox and womers together for 3-4 years and given the number of finches we keep we're pretty sure your mate IS on the right track.........as said.....jsut need to religiosuly stick to the dose rate set down by the vet/makers.

Mind you....none of these products were designed for finches anyway!!!!!!

Because we can, and if we cant we will try again and again. Thats what makes this hobby/pastime/OBSESSION so rewarding. I never really left the fold, just lost the membership card and recently found it. Although it seemed out of date it didn't take much to get it renewed.

Ahh... the voice of sanity and reason. Never a truer word spoken!!
I think finches were designed for even those with the biggest of bird-keeping egos!!
By the way, isn't it interesting the relative low numbers of people who successfully keep and breed BOTH parrots and finches...

lots of people breed neophemas along sides there finches...
but other parrots... yes actually now I come to think of it there aren't many!?

Most people tend to love either small or large birds but not very often both. (Yes we know about you Deb ) And backyard space can make doing both to the max a problem too.

That's the sole reason why, for the time being, I gave up my parrots. We've always had both parrots and finches until the end of last year. I miss my parrots greatly but it's so much easier to move the finch aviaries (smaller) than the parrot aviaries every time you have to shift for work. One day we'll settle back to Bendigo on a **real** block (not the stingy sized ones down here) and then !

i do what fincho162 said and mix my baycox with moxidectin plus and have never ever had a drama. Dunno if that helps but im confident with it.

My oh my, what a difference a couple of days make! No wheezing/clicking/coughing and very minimal beak wiping. Birds alert and looking much better. Will repeat the procedure at the 14 day interval as advised by a couple of you. Will also coopex avairies and birds at the completion. Hopefully that will solve a few of the parasite/ant issues.
