Easy way out is too just release the poor little buggers and let them fend for themselves ...got me buggered why anyone would breed them just to release them .

I guess they just don’t think about the situation properly – why breed 100 zebras? If you are very lucky you may get $5each for them if they are charcoals (unless they are the reds). If someone breeds them and doesn’t understand the species and takes them to a shop and is offered 50 cents each for them after perhaps paying $40pair (which some places charge for 1 pair of Zeb’s!) I wouldn’t be surprised if they were let go when they got home!!

I also know of breeders who breed Zeb’s to give away to kids to get them interested in birds. So if the father comes over to buy a grass parrot and the kid tags along he get a few zebs.

People need to realize that if you breed cheap bird you probably won’t be able to give them away. I am not saying they shouldn’t be kept just don’t breed them.
