What do you feed your rearing Goulds?

For some reason my Gouldians have always preferred the whole (actually half) eggshells provided separately which they then chip away at, breaking small pieces off them. On the other hand, mine distinctly prefer their cuttlebone broken up freshly. If I leave large pieces in the aviary permanently they preiodically pick at them but as soon as I crush up a piece before their eyes its a case of step back & watch them scoff into it whenever they have dependent young. I would offer these both separately (and dry) free from other eggfood, greens, etc. even if only to see how they really go for them whilst rearing young.

Ok, I'll crush some cuttle up and throw it there in a bowl tomorrow.

I have been offering soaked seed where some seed is chitting.
Today I went to inspect the box but before i looked in I heard that sweet sound of young. By the sounds of it there were definately a few doing well. So I put it back without looking and will let the pair do their job.
I gave them the crushed cuttle and calcivet in water and I'll just keep doing what I have been. Almost everything I have been offering is being eaten (there are a pair of canaries in there but unlike spring time they are not first to the food bowls) except for the endive. Mustn't be big fans of it.
