Yes I too got to listen to Bob talk. No fluff, just real down to earth information willingly given for those prepared to listen and ask questions. Bob and alot of others in his league who were at the convention are a real asset to this forum and the finch world as well as they can give advice from years of accumulated knowledge rather then text book recitals. They are the type of guys that you would love to spend time with them in their aviaries and be like a big sponge and soak it all up. Thanks again guys.

I too thought Bob's talk was excellent and very inspiring. A man who has selflessly dedicate the better part of his life to the husbandry of finches and other avian delights such as his favourite Peking Robin (Leiothrix lutea). The best advice Bob gave that I fully endorse myself, is OBSERVATION is the best practice every finch breeder should dedicate as much time as possible to.
Bob impressed me with his understanding of finch psychology. When his Red Crested cock went on an aggro killing spree he did not knee jerk to the typical thought that this species is just a violent so and so. He calmly accepted that it was caused by not enough live food, or too many birds competing in the same aviary etc etc. His rational train of thought is what every breeder should attain to.
My only regret is that I didn't realise until the very end of the night that me and Bob already knew each other! Bugger, I would have chewed his ear of had I been on the ball lol.
