Got some finches when i was 11/12 mainly because
My father is allergic to sunflower seeds.
He kept all types of native parrots up until he moved
Out of home, then sun flower became a problem.
Guess thats where the feathers in the blood came from.
I cant imagine keepin parrots with the exception of lories.
But i reckon the finches will always trump any parrot.
what got you into breeding finches???

Always liked birds for as long as i can remember, my first was a blue budgie named spike when i was about 8 or so. Got a couple of zebs after that, then when i was about 12 got into pigeons and parrots, the pigeons ate too much so gave them away. I didn't keep birds in my later teens. Then a couple of years ago i started toying with the idea of getting finches, and out of the blue my wife got me a pair of BH normal gouldians for our anniversary, thought they were brilliant so i built an aviary got some more gouldians, stars, painteds, chestnuts, double bars, goldfinches, & one bush budgie for good measure and never looked backed.
