Live food options for St Helenas/Orange Breasts
It does disturb me that people can't accept things for what they are - maggots are sold in fishing circles as gents or gentles, one maggot species is sold as calciworms, soldier grubs and pheonix worms overseas - there seems to be no end of names we will create to disguise the humble maggot. If we spent some of that creative energy on debunking the "dirty maggot" myth perhaps we could call a maggot a maggot and get on with our animal care. After all they are clean enough to use in medicine where they are put on rotting wounds to eat off all the dead decaying tissue (because they will stop when they hit the live tissue).
