I would say Harvey that he looks like a standard whistler. A very nice looking bird.

Could be a boarder just that body doesn't seem to have the round shape or the defined round head and it and legs seem to be abit to long, but it might be a boarder.

Looks like a border to me, but I suspect that a pure Border Fancy (or Fife or other) is as rare as a pure wild-type zebbie these days.
Certainly looks pretty, I like her frosted feathers.
I hope they do this for you soon:

Unfortunately, they are outside and it isn't really spring yet...
Fortunately, I have found them to be quite tough birds; only the red ones seem a bit soft....
What do you mean 'gets angry' when she goes near him? Does he get agitated, or does he seem to attack her?
I suspect he is just showing off, trying to impress her....
When they fight, it is pretty clearly fighting.

There is no fighting but when the hen comes and sits on his perch he doesnt let her sit there he looks like he gets a bit angry.
Dad made a wire divider so we might give that a go in a few weeks.
Its not even spring yet so i will just sit back and wait...
Thanks for that pic

Not much has happened since i moved them into a cabinet so today i put a wire divider dad made in,hope this gets things going,i have been giving the a boiled egg and winter grass.
The male canary has been tearing up bits of paper i put in there, but no sign of nesting just yet...
