I have got the same solar set up as BB, it's been working for 18 mnths with no problems. The birds still all disappear into where ever
at night, have got the same type of lights over our house front door. For $20.00 a pair you can't go wrong.
Cheers Greg.

i bought a string of solar-powered white 'christmas lights' - tiny LED bulbs. i strung them round the lattice before i attached the brush - that way when i change the brush i don't need to move the lights. they cast a great moonlight blue tint through the back of the aviary, last most of the night unless it's overcast for a couple of days, dim enough not to interrupt sleep patterns but bright enough that they could see their way around if spooked. night-frights are my main reason for having them.

I used the system BB quoted and can say that with one light in each aviary it works a treat and lasts all night. The birds do their normal thing and go to roost when they normally do. Actually the ground doves roost in front of it and face it - I doubt it would give out much heat as they are only 3 leds. it has helped in letting birds get to perches easily when and if a night fright happens. Lets face it for $20 each why wouldnt you. Not many birds can be replaced for that amount of money.
Cheers

BB is happy with hers too , I think that they may be the way to go and yes the price is right too.
