The Paradise parrot do you think it could still exist?

Still hold out hope that the Night Parrot still exist also.

And that Ground Parrot numbers increase dramatically.
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

I know they do, regrettably a passing tourist bus scared it away and my photo is "inconclusive" so technically it's an "unconfirmed sighting". I know what I saw and followed through the spinifex for more than 15 minutes just after dawn though. 'Twas near Ayres Rock - an area with other "unconfirmed sightings". There's no way it was "just a budgie", it was twice the size and made no effort to do more that flutter away each time.

Did you know that according to Terence Lindsay author of Parrots of Australia we have "only" definitely lost 2 species of birds on the Aussie continent .
Both were species of Emus , one on King Island and the other on Kangaroo Island and both were exterminated in the late 1700s by settlers .

Wouldn't it be good if this is true ...well not good for the Emus but good for the parrots believed to be extinct .

Just a bit of trivia ...

Dont know Nathan , King Island is very much different to mainland Australia so I guess they were Emus that evolved a little differently .. I dont think early settlers cared about preserving records for future generations either .
