So Finchman101, that green will slowly moult out and it should have a totally yellow back when fully coloured up ???

I don't think it goes fully yellow after it's first molt but after each molt theres less green and more yellow, so maybe next or the one after he could be completely yellow.

With that much green now it's unlikely to ever disappear completely, but Aus yellow back colours are a bit like Forest Gump's box of chocolates....

Well there ya have it, i now know what Aus/ Yellow looks like, I only bought it because it was with a YB/RH/PB hen i wanted and it looked a bit different !!
Any suggestion's on what colour hen's i can put with it in the future ??

Don't waste the Aus Yellow. Get a normal split for Aus Yellow, that way half the young (on average of course) will be Aus Yellow and the other half split Aus Yellow. Put him to anything else and someone else further down the track will get the benefit or the shock depending on your view of unexpected mutations in your flock.

Its recessive the physical gene will be lost if you dont mate it with a split hen. Also its white breast not Purple.

Hi all,
Here's a picture of my " Bargain Aussie " Gouldian, He's almost coloured up now, He sing's from Sun up to Sun Down !!
Hopefully some young ones from him and his "Arranged hen " in the future ?? :D
