Hmmm he looks a bit off colour....If he was mine I would put him in a hospital cage with heat....could be a bit of stress from his move...heat and vitamins would do wonders to start with...

I would give him some spark in the water, give him grit/minerals.Does he have a lot of fat on his breast bone,if so I would put him on a diet.Feed him plain red frech millet and red pannicum seed for a few weeks,no canary seed, give him some greens

Having now seen the picture the breeder really should not have given this bird away, it's really poor that they have passed this bird on to you as it's in a very poor condition.
As the others have said some heat will help as it will save the bird using energy to keep warm also as I suggested earlier vitimins are a must to help him pick up strength.
There is a product called quick gel http://www.birdhealth.com.au/product/quikgel.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; that I use for any birds not looking 100% it's a bit expensive but it's like red bull for birds gives them lots of energy.
Good luck with the little (Fat) guy hope he makes it.

Brought him out into a hospital cage. Dropped into the produce store this afternoon on the way home from work and brought some electrolyte and a 'first aid' concoction (high in vitamins, omegas etc).
Mixed it all up and went to give to him but alas, BFG is no more. He was dead on the floor without ever getting any of the 'medicine'.
Thanks to all for taking the time to provide advice and guidance. I've certainly learnt something from the experience.
Regards

Sorry to hear that he must have been sick rather than just overweight keep a close eye on your other birds in case he's passed anything on.
