My quails with babies just about pass out with excitement if I give them termites.

thats a decent nest, my best is 8 but that pair did it 5 times in a row. The local pet shop said "no more" so that put a halt to proceedings. As previously mentioned watch the water bowls.

I had two hens combine their nest and hatch a combined 20 chicks in 2 days like a cup full of yellow fuzzballs.

What a great pair of birds , mother and father have each got half the clutch under them at each end of the aviary and it looks like they have either moved the remaining eggs or they have hatched while I was out ....

Not a bad nest they have built either , the other hen has just dug a hole in gravel and laid her eggs .

Just wait until they lose their wobbly boots and they will run like the clappers and straight out the wire if you have wire to the ground. (only when scared)
I see you got an assortment in that bunch too.

The wire is doubled up with mouse mesh , no escaping for these little ones

interesting to get cinnamons, silvers and normals in the same batch too

Ive put the mutation question into another post if you can help me with colours etc ...Oh they are from Normal ( coughs again ) parents .

1 found dead , no signs of injury and a nice full belly . Ants had eaten its eyes away so I cant be sure if that was post mortem or while it was alive ...hope it was already gone .

Anyhoo Coopexed all the aviaries ...sheesh what a downer .
